There are some rumblings in the NW as far as the Lowbrow (aka Pop Surrealism) scene goes...first of all, Vancouver filmmaker Marcus Rogers has made a documentary for canadian TV about the Lowbrow scene in Canada and the US. You can catch some of it on his Myspace page.
Among the interviewees is our own lovely local Lisa Petrucci, painter of carnal cuties and chief vixen at Something Wierd Video. Lisa's been focusing on running the empire and creating some must-have merch, but plans to emerge next year with a full blown art show at the Roq after a much need break...
